Our Story? There are many stories that come to mind when someone tells us to describe the “Bucketheads” story….basically the “Bucketheads story” starts in the Fall of 2009.
Natalie had been working on her jewelry business and t-shirt business for over a year at this point, with the help of her dad Stace and mom Nancy, they began to really kick it in to high gear in the fall of 2009. Stace had the idea to call the Mall of Abilene to see if they had a kiosk available for the holiday season of 2009. The mall was already full of kiosks for the season, but they had a small 900 sq ft store they were trying to lease, so, with little (if any) discussion with Nancy and Natalie…We were signing a contract and moving into a store with less than a week notice.
Bucketheads opened for business for the first day on Black Friday of 2009. With only a 6 week contract signed, Bucketheads closed on Jan 1st unsure of where the future was headed…and completely unaware of what opening up a store 365 days a year would be like, as a family we decided to remodel and open back up February 1st.
Three years later and multiple expansions, remodels, relocations, stitches, mistakes, tears, fights and plenty of nights with no sleep; Bucketheads is now located in a 4,000 sq ft store in the Mall of Abilene. Their first expansion on Bucketheads came in the Fall of 2010 with “Lil’ Bucketheads” a children’s clothing and accessories store. Lil’ Bucketheads is now located at 2026 Sayles Blvd.
