The Many Paths to God
The Many Paths to God

Start Date: Oct. 17, 2012
Time: 7:00 PM

Unity of Abilene is presenting a 6 month series “The Many Paths To God” starting Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 7 pm. The series will focus on a different religion each month. The first presentation will be on Judaism, with Dr Marc Orner. Dr Orner is a therapist with Abilene Professional Center and well known from his many local television and radio talks. Originally from New York, the Texas ‘transplant’ is a wonderful speaker and will give his talk on the beliefs, traditions, and all the things you have wondered about Judaism. The series will continue on November 14th with Chaplain Haywood Talib, who will speak about the Muslim traditions and faith. The series will continue in January on the third Wednesday of each month, with a schedule of the faiths of Baha’i, Hindu, Sufi and Orthodox. The series will conclude in May with a round table discussion with the presenters about our common goals and faith. Unity of Abilene provides an interdenominational, Omni faith approach to personal and collective spiritual expression. We are part of the movement known generically as New Thought Christianity. We practice "Practical Christianity" which is the practical application of the Spiritual Principles as taught by Jesus Christ. We study the bible using Metaphysical Interpretation which is looking at all...the literal, moral, and spiritual aspects of the Bible. What is happening? Why? And How does this apply to my life today. We start each Sunday service affirming our belief that we honor all paths to God and that inspired us to then study some of these paths with this series.
